Upcoming Andover DTC Meeting

Andover's local elections are on 3/2 and  over the past months, we have had an opportunity to hear from Board of Selectmen candidates Annie Gilbert and Chris Huntress and School Committee candidates Susan McCready and Tracey Spruce.

Given that election day is less than a month away, we will be holding a special Andover Dems meeting at 7pm on Monday 3/5 at the Andover Baptist Church (7 Central Street) to discuss the campaigns and get involved.

REMINDER: Andover Democratic Caucus TOMORROW (2/26) at 7PM!

As a reminder we will be holding our Andover Democratic Town Committee caucus tomorrow night (2/26) at 7pm at Memorial Hall Library, top floor. Registration begins at 6:30pm and closes promptly at 7:15pm so please arrive early!

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help with the caucus. If volunteers could arrive around 6:20 pm that would be tremendously helpful.

In addition to our caucus, we also need to discuss putting forward candidates for the Town's Board of Registrars of Voters. The Board is comprised of one Democrat, one Republican, a person of any party affiliation (could be a Democrat), and the Town Clerk. More information can be found via the town website:

If anyone is interested in a position on this Board, please email the Andover DTC by clicking here.

New Date for Andover Democratic Town Committee Caucus

Thank you all for your patience as we rescheduled our caucus due to last week's snowstorm. The new date of our caucus is MONDAY 2/26 at 7PM at Memorial Hall Library (2 North Main Street, Andover). The meeting will be held in Memorial Hall on the top floor of the library.

Registration for the caucus will begin at 6:30pm and remain open until 7:15pm sharp. If you are not in line by 7:15pm, you will not be permitted to vote in the caucus or run to be a delegate. Please be on time!

During the caucus, we will be electing 8 male delegates, 8 female delegates, 1 delegate of any gender, and 4 alternates. The duty of a delegate is to represent Andover Democrats at the 2018 Massachusetts Democratic Party Convention, which will be held on June 1st and June 2nd at the DCU Center in Worcester.

You must be a registered Democrat in Andover to vote in the caucus or run to be a delegate. If you have recently changed your party registration and believe it will not be accurately reflected in the voter roll, you can obtain a receipt from the Town Clerk and bring it to the caucus. You can also register to vote/fill out paperwork to become a Democrat at the caucus (forms will be available at registration).

*Special note: Seventeen-year-old pre-registered Democrats who reside in Andover and will be 18 on or before September 18, 2018 can take part in the caucus, run for delegate or alternate and vote for delegate or alternate.

To ensure that the caucus runs smoothly and efficiently, please arrive on time. We are required to finish before 9pm when the library closes. If we have contested races for delegate and alternate positions, candidates will be allowed to speak for a very brief amount of time.

For additional information, feel free to consult the Mass Dems Convention Page: It’s my intention to run an inclusive caucus and I will thoroughly explain the rules and procedures that night so that everyone is able to participate. In the meantime, if you have any individual questions, feel free to reach out to me (contact information listed below).
