This year’s Massachusetts Democratic State Convention will take place on Saturday, May 30th, at the Tsongas Center in Lowell. This will be an “Endorsing” convention, because one of our US Senate seats is up for election this year. Since there is more than one Democratic candidate, each of them will need to garner 15% of the delegate votes at the state convention, in order for their name to appear on the September Democratic primary ballot.
Andover has been allocated 17 Delegates and 4 Alternates to the State Convention.
These Delegates and Alternates will be elected at the Andover Democratic Town Caucus, which will be held on Tuesday, March 10th, in the upstairs meeting room of the Andover Memorial Hall Library, 2 North Main Street. Registration will begin at 6:30 PM, and the Caucus will be called to order at 7:00 PM.
In order to participate in this year’s caucus, including to run for Delegate or Alternate, you must be a registered or pre-registered Democrat residing in the Town of Andover, and be at least 16 years old by February 15, 2020.
If you have any questions about the caucus process, please feel free to contact Pam Poindexter, Vice Chair of the Andover Democratic Town Committee, at firstname.lastname@example.org
