Important Information on Voting in Andover's Local Elections

During these difficult times, please let me know if there is any way the Andover Democratic Town Committee can be of help to you. As you know, we have an important local election coming up on March 24th - please see below an important update on voting information:

The Town of Andover has published the precautions they will be taking to make the polls safe on Tuesday, March 24th including allowing use of your own or a disposable pens, providing hand sanitizer, latex gloves on Election officers, spaced-out voting booths, and regular cleaning.

However, IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO SELF-QUARANTINE ON ELECTION DAY, TUESDAY, MARCH 24TH, YOU CAN VOTE USING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT.

Pick one of these two ways to absentee vote:

1. VISIT THE TOWN CLERK OFFICE, FILL OUT AN ABSENTEE APPLICATION, OBTAIN THE BALLOT IMMEDIATELY AND VOTE OVER-THE-COUNTER. The Town Clerk's Office is open weekdays (main floor of the town offices at 36 Bartlet Street) between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Deadline for this approach is noon on Monday, March 23rd. (I will be doing this tomorrow!!)

OR

2. Print, fill out and mail the absentee ballot application (https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/elepdf/absentee/English-Absentee-Ballot-Application.pdf). This application can be mailed or emailed to the Town Clerk, Austin Simko (austin.simko@andoverma.us). Once received, a ballot will be mailed back to you. You can then fill out the ballot and mail it back to the Town Clerk. To be counted, absentee ballots must be received by the Town Clerk’s Office by 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 24th.

All of this information (and more!) can be found on the town website here:
